Born in Berlin, Germany, Martin Schreiber and his family immigrated to the US to escape war-torn Europe. He enjoyed a long and successful art career as a commercial art director and as a passionate creative geometric artist exhibiting in NYC; Miami; Boca Raton; Dallas; Montreal, Canada; and Sao Paulo, Brazil. Through subtle changes of color and intensity, his hard-edge band style produces soft edge light vibration and illusions of spatial expansion. In Schreiber’s sculptures and three-dimensional constructions, he directs small progressions in shape and size to produce exciting relationships of light and color.

Schreiber passed away in 2005, and his artwork is now represented by his daughter Judith.

Expressionist Cuban born painter Leonor Anthony gets the inspiration for this piece from the French novel Le Petit Prince. Focusing on that which lies within and cannot be seen with the eyes and connecting with the pure and innocent is the message of this work.

Leonor’s preferred mediums are oil on canvas, charcoal drawings, digital art and mixed media. The imagery of her art is crafted with unprecedented assertiveness, a combination of refined, complex and loose brush strokes, characterized by violently expressive color and jarring compositions that elicit vivid emotional reactions.

Leonor is the Artist in Residence of the Florida International University’s Honors College. Her work is collected and exhibited in Asia (Beijing Expo 2012-2013, and Seoul Open Art Fair 2013, 2014), in Europe (Paris, Liege, Rome and The Netherlands), in the U.S. and Mexico. She is represented by Viota Gallery in San Juan, Puerto Rico and Simons Gallery in Mexico City and Miami.

Her work will be exhibited in the Carrousel du Louvre in October and was chosen for the Palermo Biennale in 2015.

This piece is a combination of the far horizon, beautiful skies, the ancient rocks that line the ‘North Shore’ of Lake Superior along with the copper which is is added as the representational element of all the minerals and ores that are mined from the area.
