“Evaluation,” Astrid Sommer

Astrid Sommer: “I love color and working on large canvases. It is so exciting to have a white canvas in front of you and discover what will emerge next. I like vague titles for my work so as not to guide the reading of a piece, and sometimes find myself really surprised hearing what some people see in one of my paintings. I feel really selfish and so happy at the same time to be able to do what I love without any restrictions or guidelines.”
